Highland photographer exhibits examples of his work in Pomona

Spiral staircase at Scotty's Castle is one of Artz' favorites.

Local photographer Matt Artz is joined by five other contemporary Southern California photographers in a group show of new work at Progress Space/Gallery Soho in Pomona. Artz, who lives in Highland and works in Redlands, has been photographing landscapes, still lifes, and abstracts in black-and-white for 30 years. You can see more of his work on his web site at www.mattartz.com .

The group show, titled "Visions and perspectives", runs through Friday, Dec. 24. Other photographers participating are Dorothy Brunell, Sindi Diane Wasserman, William David Coxon, Craig Dinsdale, and Porforio Aguilar. Award-winning photographer Yoshio Kitazawa was originally scheduled to participate but passed away suddenly in September. In his honor, a "Memorial Wall" featuring four of his photographs will be on display at the "Visions and Perspectives" show.
